Awareness of Mental Health Problems

This interesting and highly-informative qualification aims to raise learners’ awareness of not only mental ill-health, but also the steps that can be taken to protect mental well-being.

Mental distress takes many forms and the course explores twelve different mental health conditions. These include: depression; bipolar disorder; stress and anxiety; phobias; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia; eating disorders and dementia.

Learners will develop an awareness of the signs and symptoms of these conditions and how they may affect people’s day-to-day lives. They will also gain an insight into how these conditions can be successfully managed.

Hallmark has published a set of high-quality student learning resources to support providers delivering this qualification. There are thirteen mandatory units in the qualification and we have presented these in four concise modular workbooks.
